12 - growingnglowing - Mother Earth
So I have been thinking about writing this for a few days. I missed writing for Earth day and that is something that I really wanted to write about. I don’t even know how to do this blog justice. I wrote a little poem… So first I just wanna say that I NEVER write poems and this is my first attempt, but I will blog after that way you have a little entertainment and then I’ll do my usual thing.
It has no title;
Luscious green, feel me breathe
Powerful blue, fade and seethe
Production, hear my wheeze
Vitamin D, kiss my skin
Beautiful species, return my grin
Pass this luxury to my kin
Take,
Oblivious of the stake
Luscious green, feel me breathe
Mother Earth is dying,
Hear her wheeze
OKAY. So obviously in previous blog posts I talked about the planet and that I just genuinely feel like it has so much to offer and it is important to me to experience that in the most organic ways possible. I believe that what the earth has to offer us is plenty and I also think we are destroying is as quickly as men fall asleep. Mainly, what is and has been important to me is the way I want to live and impact this planet in my lifetime and make sure I feel like I am doing my part to really take care of it but also to see my own personal benefits from it as well. A lot of close people and maybe some others hear me talk about eventually living on a farm one day and there is intent behind that. If you truly put back into the land what it gives to you, you create a cycle where your materialistic needs are minimal, and the healthiest lifestyle you can achieve. Of course in modern day this idea is very conceptual because a lot of people don’t see the value in living this way. I see the happiest and healthiest kinds of people who are interacting with nature, with food, with animals, and that all just runs with this idea that the land gives you everything you need, naturally. Simply, the most fundamentally primal things will give you the fulfillment of life.
The picture I have in my head;
You wake up, naturally, with the cycle of the day. Maybe a kiss on the forehead, a cry from your nursery, a boop from your pup, however you choose to find your peace. A crisp sun, with chirping on a crescendo. Wiggle those toes… fingers… then a nice stretch, and up for the day. Warm water hitting my freezing cold (thanks anemia) body. For me, an ICE cold coffee, bagel and some freshly picked blueberries from two days ago on top of some yogurt and honey. Then I get on with whatever each day has in store, taking care of my apple orchard, tending to my goats, fertilizing my crops, recycling old crops, maybe visiting my mama pig with her babies. Fresh fruit salad for lunch, or perhaps a fresh pasta salad. There are so many valuable things for young toddlers to learn from this lifestyle where they have education and play mixed together. Not only toddlers but also as they grow up to appreciate different life cycles and ecosystems, they will form their views on ours and the way we live and treat other humans and animals and our land. You never know the exciting and different things that you will have for dinner. Everything is constantly changing. There is a beautiful end, and there is a tough and ugly end, but I feel in my heart it is what we were meant to do. Take care of the land. Provide the land with the ability to cycle over and over and thrive. I am pulled to what my body and my heart feel is the natural way to follow. I don’t have any idea how I will get here, but this one day is my goal. I want to break the cycle of our modern day society and turn to a peaceful life full of love, regrowth, connection, and stability.
The earth is all we’ve got, and it will take care of us as long as we take care of her. She is screaming at us, for help.
I will likely continue on this topic and integrate it into my blog quite often as I also make changes and come to understand my impact and lifestyle. For now, logging off.
Happy late Earth day. Xx.
