Hey y'all! What a Monday I have had! Before I start this journal I’ll tell you my first experience with bad traffic, from this afternoon after work.
I left work at approx. 5:45pm… I believe. I didn’t check the time exactly when I left. Normally I like to go the longer way, because it does not involve the highway, and it uses less gas - except for today. When I got home it was 7:47 pm. My frustration with this scenario began when I realized I was able to listen to about 7 songs in between two main roads. Obviously this is abnormal because it normally would take like 3 minutes? I then sat so close to still for another while, and awaited my arrival for the on ramp to the highway. Once I got that far there was an officer blocking the way and I ended up having to go all the way around to the opposite end of the city and squishing into some less intense traffic to finish my trip home. I am so tired right now…
Now, to readdress this blog, hey y’all! I have been working and doing some redecorating and a lot of sleeping. It is quite possible that the Autumn depression is kicking in - and by that I mean it is. It is currently 1:00am exactly and I am writing this blog to you. Funny enough, I took another tiny road trip today as well. This seems to be all over the place so lets move right into my ACTUAL roady to Kingston!
To start the day, I accidentally slept beautifully through a work meeting. To start the trip, my lovely car, Priscilla, almost did not start. However, she did on the second and a half-ish go and I trusted her well enough to get us through the weekend. The drive was pretty good! only stopped once for gas and continued on. I have never driven out the east way so I wasn’t sure what to expect I really just threw on the GPS and went for it. It was pretty much a straight drive out, but I just kept thinking “what if I just drove and drove and drove”… Once I got out there my friend (I will come back and edit if she is ok with her name being involved) greeted me at the end of an extremely long hall, I met her house mate and then we did some errands! Friday night we had these lovely tacos, so good that I don’t know if I want to spoil the secret - just like my spinach dip. A small get together of the three friends I made at work and her house mate. Playing some beer pong, which I am normally decent at, however I would say that my skill is declining each time I play recently. I went to sleep with my makeup still on but ready to conquer the day ahead as we had a big hike planned!
I’ve recently learned (this year) that I very much like hiking. I think being surrounded by nature but also being able to get your heart rate up is amazing. The hiking spot was 40 minutes away and we only had to make one pee pit stop along the way. The pee pit stop was at this small gas station/pizza store/ice cream parlour/movie rental store. Very interesting, and diverse if you will. Everyone went for a pee. Then we hopped back in the car for a short while and parked and started hiking. I think we were gone for quite a while, maybe an hour and a bit hiking, but absolutely no complaints at all. The view at the highest point of the hike was amazing. Vegetation for miles and a small river with some cottages as well. I take it back… one complaint. The height. I do not do heights. At all. Going to the edge of the rock to look below was not for me. I ended up doing a human centipede-like crawl back to some normal ground with more ground around it. On our hike we decided to go for sushi for dinner. If you know me at all you know I do not like seafood, let alone sushi. I do really like Japanese and Vietnamese foods though. Long story short I tried some veggie sushi!! I didn’t LOVE it, but I think I would try it again. Saturday night was also low-key as we stayed in to play these super fun games on Jackbox.tv.
Sunday morning came quickly and I had to leave early because we had a lovely service for my uncle… something I would like to dedicate a whole blog to.
This was a run down of how that weekend went. I had a fantastic time, the three of you are always a hoot and a half and I always have a good chuckle and no worries around you! So if you’re reading this, thank you <3
Checking out for now, goodnight.
